Benni has hardly any contact with the outside world in prison. Apart from brief visits, writing letters is the only way to let him participate in our life out here. He is happy to receive letters and postcards!

If you want to write to him but don’t want to tell your name and address, you can use the mailboxes provided. If you are not from Leipzig, there is most likely a place in your city where you can receive letters.
This is how it works:
1. In the first letter to him, you give yourself a pseudonym under which you want to write.
*If you already know Benni, describe a harmless situation of you both that he might remember so that he knows who you are. Important here: stay cautious, the letters will be read!*
2. You write the letter.
3. It’s a good idea to include a stamp and an envelope so that you get a quick reply. You are also welcome to include current articles (it is best to refer to them in the letter and note them as an attachment, otherwise they may be removed). These can also be more private things, depending on what you feel comfortable with.
4. Everything in the envelope? As sender you write:

Monday: 3pm – 6pm
Tuesday: 3pm – 6pm
Sunday: 2pm – 5pm

Tuesday to Thursday: 10am – 7pm
Friday: von 10am – 3pm
